In 2010, Roscommon reached a Connacht final against Sligo. The Rossies had a great campaign to get into the final, beating New York and Leitrim before facing Sligo — who had beaten Mayo and Galway. In McHale park for the second year a row in 2009, Roscommon lost against Mayo in the semi-final by 20 points. Donie Shine kicked 10 points to seal the victory in 2010 and Dermot Earley inspired them from the heavens.
