Louth had not won a Leinster title since 1957 but led by two points deep into injury time against bitter rivals Meath. Graham Reilly sent a bomb into the Wee County’s penalty area and after a scramble, the ball ended up in the net. But Joe Sheridan had carried the ball over the line and Louth fans - and a small few who chased referee Martin Sludden onto the pitch afterwards - were furious.
