Having seen off Dublin in the semi-final after a late, dramatic Ray Cosgrave free-kick shaved the post, Armagh were expected to be denied a first crown by the more experienced Kerry. However, inspired by Kieran McGeeeney, Steven McDonnell, 19-year-old Ronan Clarke and Oisin McConville – who scored 1-2 - the Orchard County shock the Kingdom to claim a first-ever All-Ireland title.
