The brilliant attacking trident of Trevor Giles, Graham Geraghty and Ollie Murphy combined before the latter slammed home the game’s first goal. Meath looked like they were going to go well clear but Kevin O’Dwyer saved a Giles penalty at the start of the second half. Joe Kavanagh scored an outstanding goal to put the Rebels a point up and Philip Clifford kicked five points but Meath pulled away in the last ten minutes.
