The open draw is introduced for the first time in Munster.

The open draw was introduced to the Munster championship for the first time in 1991. It paid off to spectacular effect the following year when Clare shocked Kerry in the final wining on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-12. Colm Clancy was the hero with the Banner’s second goal as his side became the first since Tipperary in 1935 to finish ahead of Munster’s big two.
