A lynchpin of the all conquering Baltinglass side that claimed eight successive Wicklow county titles, Kevin O’Brien won an All-Ireland club title in 1990. The same year he claimed Wicklow’s first All Star, a fitting reward for the man John O’Leary considered the best forward of his generation. The free-scoring front man played for Leinster in 1986 before his county debut and was twice picked on the Irish Compromise Rules team.
