Tyrone’s Frank McGuigan gives one of the all time great scoring displays, notching 11 points from play in the Ulster final against Armagh.

Frank McGuigan played championship football for Tyrone in three grades in 1972 as well as playing in a senior and minor Ulster final that year. But it was 12 years later that he set his scoring benchmark. McGuigan kicked five points with his left, five with his right as well as well one point with his fist out of Tyrone’s total of 0-15 as the Red Hand won the Ulster title. Tragically a car accident the following year curtailed his career although his sons Frank Jr, Brian, and Tommy all went on to play senior football for Tyrone.
