With his side well behind Galway in the Connacht final, Roscommon’s goalkeeper Aidan Brady broke the crossbar. A lengthy delay ensued while repairs were made. On the resumption, and inspired by the move of Gerry O’Malley to midfield, the game changed completely and Roscommon turned things around to snatch a famous win, 3-7 to 2-9.
