In the 75th anniversary of the GAA’s founding, the association took a massive step into the modern age with the opening of new Hogan Stand. It meant the removing of the old covered terraces called the Long Stand as well as the old Hogan Stand. It took two years to complete with the capacity of Croke Park increased by 16,000 by the magnificent double-decker structure that was free of all obstructive pillars.
