Kerry togged out in blue for this final and a terrier scampered onto the pitch during their first attack. JJ Shehan scored a first half goal for Kerry to give them the initiative. Meath were down by 1-5 to 0-7 at half-time but blasted Kerry in the second period. Tom Moriarty scored the goal for his side while Michael Grace was man of the match.
