The 1931 Ulster final was played in Dundalk. The game was a tense affair as it was the first meeting between the sides since Jamesy McKiernan’s death two years before. The Armagh player died following a clash on the field and when another Armagh player was injured in ’31 the crowd attempted to encroach on the pitch. The game passed off without major incident, however, as Cavan won a first title in three years.
