The late running of the Ulster championship held up the entire season, meaning the 2011 All-Ireland final was played the following year. The Cork side who dominated the game were an interesting bunch. Charlie Paye played soccer for Cork Celtic and spent a summer in New York playing for the Cork club. William Mackessy was an athlete and captain Mick Mehigan later went on a hunger strike at Wormwood Scrubs prison.
