Louth were again denied the chance to face Kerry in the final. In what is still one of the great GAA shocks, Antrim turfed the southern side out at the semi-final stage. Having played against the wind in the first half, the Saffrons emerged at the start of the second a point up. Despite a sending-off, Joe Mullen goaled to help his side to a 3-5 to 0-2 win. Kerry, meanwhile, blamed the defeat on a wedding the day before.
