A dispute between Kerry and the Great Southern and Western Railway Company meant Louth were denied the chance to make up for ’09. The Kingdom had a number of grievances: they claimed fares were too high for supporters; the GSWR gave no assurances regarding a reserved carriage for players; and they were not allowed travel on an earlier, less crowded service. Kerry avoided a five-year ban and the title was awarded to Louth.
