In the delayed 1898 final Joe Ledwidge scores two goals as Dublin’s Geraldines beat Waterford’s Erin’s Hopes, 2-8 to 0-4. There are doubts over Erin’s Hopes right to be in the final as there are two rival boards in Waterford. Future Ireland soccer international Ledwidge captured his second All-Ireland the following year and later became the first player to win a soccer IFA Cup medal and All-Ireland title.
